Street Soccer

What is Street Soccer:

In essence, street soccer is a raw, unfiltered form of soccer that emphasizes creativity, adaptability, and individual skill, often played in spontaneous settings and with minimal equipment.

Key characteristics of street soccer:

Informal and adaptable: Street soccer games can be played in various locations and with varying numbers of players.

Minimal equipment: It often requires just a ball and makeshift goals, like cones or bags.

Lack of formal rules: There's no need for referees, and players may agree on their own rules, focusing on improvisation and creativity.

Focus on individual skill: Street soccer emphasizes close control, individual skill, and quick thinking due to the smaller playing area and fast-paced nature of the game.

Creativity and improvisation: It encourages players to develop their own unique styles and techniques.

Accessibility: It can be played almost anywhere, making it highly accessible to a wide range of players.

How Street Soccer events works:

Players register individually.

Players are randomly assigned to a team for a small sided game.

For each game, players are randomly assigned to a new team and play new opponents.

Players play 8 x 12 minute games.

For each game, players score individual points based on:

  •       Winning the game (3 points)

  •       Tieing the game (1 point)

  •       Every goal team scores, whether they win, tie or lose (1 point)

  •       Bonus Point - Player of the game - referee will select a player from every game as the star of the game (1 point)

After 8 games, the top 8 players in the standings will play a 4v4 Championship game to determine the winner.
